Creating schematic symbols and the layout of the physical pads for the central CERN component libraries is a free service that the TS-DEM-BE design office provides to CERN users. |

The library office of TS-DEM-BE provides the following services:
|
Having a central library service makes that all symbols use the same standards and have the same "look and feel". For the physical padstack (i.e. the size and placement of the copper pads and their naming), we use IPC norms IPC-7251 and IPC-7351. Using these standards guarantees optimal placement and soldering results.
It's easy! For requesting a Cadence symbol just send a simple mail to electronics-components-cadence@cern.ch. For PCAD or Altium symbols send a mail to electronics-components-pcad@cern.ch or electronics-components-altium@cern.ch respectively. You may want to make use of the Word template to help us; just don't forget to save this document before filling it in.
Normally the symbols are made within a few days, even during holiday periods.
